The Delusions of European Liberalism: A Childish Reliance on Benevolence in a World of Power

Power is the possibility to inflict pain.

Power is the possibility to inflict pain. This is the fundamental truth of relations—personal or international. Yet Europe, especially Western Europe, has wrapped itself in a moralistic fantasy where words, diplomacy, and goodwill are believed to supersede influence. The result? Weakness, dependency, and a humiliating slide into irrelevance.

The Illusion of “Morality” Over Power

Liberal theory has entrenched Europe to a level of absurdity where citizens denounce weapons and military strength while naively insisting that conflicts should be resolved through “dialogue.” These fools are applauded by”pacifists” who fail to grasp that every negotiation in history has been backed by the implicit threat of consequences—whether violence, economic ruin, or personal suffering.

Do these idealists genuinely believe Iran would sit at the negotiating table without considering what the U.S. could do to them? Do they think a child obeys their parents’ request to do the dishes without weighing the consequences of refusal? Maybe not consciously, but in the back of their mind, everyone knows their place. This is not some uniquely American cruelty—it is the immutable law of power.

History’s Brutal Lessons, Forgotten by Europe

  • Caesar took hostages from rebellious tribes to ensure compliance. Once everyone knows what your army is capable of, sometimes it won’t even have to fight.
  • The atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were not militarily necessary—they were a demonstration of overwhelming destructive power to force surrender.
  • Hitler bluntly told Austrian Chancellor Schuschnigg what would happen if Austria resisted annexation—and Austria folded.
  • Colonial conquest was “achieved” by burning villages, by inflicting personal pain.
  • Native American tribes had their food stocks burned in winter—not for tactical advantage, but to break their will through suffering.
  • The list could be continued forever. Through all times and places.

The Middle East Knows Power, China Prepares for It—Europe Sleeps

While Europe prattles on about “soft power” and “multilateralism,” the Middle East lives under the constant shadow of force. They have never doubted who runs the world. Meanwhile, China methodically builds its military and economic dominance, fully aware that the 21st century will belong to those who can project strength.

And where is Europe? Hoping for U.S. protection while scolding America for not treating them special anymore. Relying on American nuclear umbrellas while moralizing against nuclear deterrence. Refusing to receive African leaders with proper protocol, then crying when Trump snubs them. Oh Europe, even the Soviet Union could have learned from your double-speak.

Wake Up Before It’s Too Late

The United States has no obligation to keep Europe as its pet. If Europeans continue to wear rose-tinted glasses, painting the world in pastels, if they still believe that “dialogue” alone will shield them from predators, they will learn—the hard way—what happens to those who mistake pacifism for a strategy that preserves peace on their terms.

Power does not care about your moralizing. It does not respect weakness. The world is not fair. So – get going, do your push-ups.
