How pseudo-liberal Feminism fails Women and Germany fails Muslims

Modern liberalism often claims to champion feminism, but a closer look reveals a glaring contradiction: it only supports women’s rights when those rights align with its own narrow vision of what women should be. True feminism should empower women to make their own choices. Yet, in practice, so-called liberal feminism often imposes its own ideals on women, particularly those from religious or cultural backgrounds, under the guise of liberation. This is not feminism—it’s coercion dressed up as empowerment.

Take the case of Muslim women in Germany, for example. A significant portion of the population, many of whom already feel marginalized and excluded, face absurd barriers simply for choosing to wear a headscarf—a perfectly harmless garment. Headscarves have been worn by women across cultures and religions for centuries. Greek grandmothers still wear them in Germany they are out since the 20th century, and icons like Grace Kelly made them fashionable. Yet, when a Muslim woman chooses to wear one, it suddenly becomes a symbol of oppression. The irony is palpable.

Do whatever you want, woman! (as long it alligns with what we want)

A Muslim woman in Germany who worked tirelessly to complete her studies and become a secondary school teacher, then was sued by the school she was assigned to for wearing a headscarf. When she switched to a hat and turtleneck, it still wasn’t enough, as the hat was “a headscraf in disguise”… Thankfully, the teacher fought back, taking her case all the way up to the Bundesverfassungsgericht (Germany’s Federal Constitutional Court), which ruled in 2015 that banning teachers from wearing headscarves was unconstitutional. Great, so female Judges can wear headscarf too? Nope, we better wait for another Muslima to struggle through all the legal trajectory…

A new Dreyfus-affair?

This sends a clear and damaging message to young Muslim women: if you want to wear a religious symbol, you are not welcome here. If you choose to cover your hair, you cannot be trusted to uphold the law or serve your community. This mindset is eerily reminiscent of the Dreyfus Affair, where a Jewish officer in the French army was accused of disloyalty simply because of his religion. The underlying question was: can a Jew truly be French, or is their identity inherently suspect? Today, we see the same logic applied to Muslim women: can a woman who wears a headscarf truly be German, or is her faith a barrier to her belonging?

Meanwhile, Germany legalizes and taxes prostitution and pornography, framing it as a matter of free will and female empowerment. The hypocrisy is staggering. On one hand, we’re told that banning headscarves is about liberating women, while being purchased for intercourse is “empowerment.” Complete joke. Big sorry out to all minorities in Germany…
